The Author Who Thinks They Can
The author who thinks they can, is the author that will. Too often do I encounter people who congratulate my accomplishments as an author when in all actuality, they are an author themselves. For example; there isn’t a person living that doesn’t have a story to tell, experiences lived, advice for their younger self, or life lessons learned. The only difference is if you decide to tell your story and put it in physical form. Once you decide to organize your ideas and life experiences, then you can effectively tell your story, the author who thinks they can will. Do not let age, social class, naysayers, or any other social constraints stop you from sharing your beautiful story to the world.
My inspiration into authorhood was legacy, leaving a piece of my mind that will outlive my body. When you think of it, some of the most influential pieces of history and legacy on the planet are through books/literature. I was never the “best writer in class” and far from a straight “A” student. I am simply a young black man with some resilience that believes his thoughts can change the world, yet understands that that inspiration may spark after he’s dead and gone.
You are an author, just like me; and every decision you make, place you go, person you meet, goal you achieve, and soul you grieve is all a part of your book. I encourage you to take a look at your life, and think about how you can tell your story so that people that walk through planet Earth centuries after you are gone can be inspired by your story!
